  • I had a Xanga site for nearly a year before I ever posted.

I remember reading – in disbelief – what private details folks would write – “FOOLS – how could they possibly  put that out here” thought I. I would read young cutters, folks w/ anorexia, troubled, angry teens, and thinking, hoping that i may have something to offer – some wisdom ,connection - friendship.

I don’t recall if i commented first, or if i began to write one day – i do know i added many names to my buddy list – thinking perhaps one day we would chat – I have to this day, literally hundreds of names on it – mostly folks i’ve never spoken to; but many, after – yes, i guess -’stalking?!? – i have reached out to and become friends with.

I’ve been through many changes in the past decade – most of those centered sharply around relationships and who i am – and folks perspective/interpretation of who i am.

I’ve always found it easy to be ‘me out loud’ – I guess Xanga is a good “tabula rasa” where i can be “as good as i once was”.

  • props to you mr anonymous

i agree people do reveal themself too much, for example under age teenager posting up pics of them drinking. i wonder if any of there parents ever find there blogs.

  • Yes, many people reveal a lot on their Xangas. But in a way, it’s like the PostSecret website. It’s anonymous, if you wish it to be. And it lets you admit what you wish to admit to the public. :) Everyone has a reason for admitting something on their Xangas, ranging from showing off, to getting a pain off their chest.

  • That’s me above – didn’t mean to be anon – thanks for the comments Richyard, anna
