  • Why Xanga? Simply because the people, the whole interaction online. Not only
can you meet new people, learn from others, keep in contact with friends,
but also.. see how you have changed over the years.  I’ve had a Xanga since
I started high school, even during junior high.
I have gone over, and read
all my posts, seen all the pictures, read every word, every poem, only to
    understand myself more.
Surfing around xanga, lets you explore the world
that you can’t reach with your fingertips. It let’s you have the chance to
learn without work. The whole process of using HTML, banners, words, poems,
pictures on Xanga is to show expression.  Online blogging let’s you vent on
things that can not be said outloud.

Not only is it therapy, but it is a learning process.

Xanga is only a self portrait of one person.
    It reflects your feelings, your
    changes, your whole life.
It’s like a storybook, waiting to be read.

Some people can express their feelings with words, others like me, express
it through pictures. On Xanga, I know that I have the freedom to say
anything I want, and to post any picture I want.  I know that I have a
“Xanga family” that will keep my thoughts in their minds.  I know that I
have the criticism of people.  I know that I have the honest opinion of
others.  ANd lastly, I know that they will teach me something in life, that
no one else can.  They can teach me how to grow.

  • Wow…beautifully said as well. I think back to the reason why I started a Xanga and it’s totally different for the reason for why I still Xanga today. It’s definately a family and it’s something that only people who also Xanga can fully understand.  My friends say I’m addicted, but I have to keep signing on just to read the newest updates or I’ll get behind. It isn’t because I feel like I have to read them, it’s because I want to make sure that those I’m reading about are still doing ok, to give them advice when they are needing it, and to just give them support when they feel like no one out there cares.

  • Oh my God, I agree with everything that the poster and the commentors have said!  This describes my sentiments exactly!  It is a family.

  • A better way to put this would not be found anywhere else.

Thank you. I understand myself a bit more, now, too. :)
