Because it makes my day at the office go by a lot quicker.

I just want to share the story of how I met my boyfriend. At first, I never thought I would join the xanga community but then my friend got me into it. After a while, I received a random comment from this guy whom I thought was really cute so i ended up replying by AIMing him back in order to get his attention.
So after a while of chit chatting and what not, we started dating and then eventually going out. We’ve been going out for 2 years now and it couldn’t be better.

I have been blogging for almost 2 yrs now, though not always on xanga.
I got on xanga b/c 2 of my sisters that I was not very close to were
on it, and I wanted to be part of their lives through this whole
internet blogging thing. Since then different family members have
come and gone into the world of blogs, but I still use my xanga as an
excuse to keep in touch with them, even if they don’t update as
regularly as I’d like. I view my blog(s) as a way to continue some
form of journal (I used to keep written journals in notebooks, I
started back in middle school) and also to update people on my life
and hopefully keep up with theirs.
One small epiphany I had recently was how interesting it is that I
have posted on my blog just about every single day since I started.
I’ve almost always had something to express, something to share,
whether mundane or profound. This from the girl that was always
viewed as “the quiet one” as far back as I can remember. I think my
blog is a way to express myself without the pressure of how people
will react to what I have to say or whether they’ll even care. I can
put my thoughts out there and after that it’s up to them to read it or
not. I think I have allowed people to see sides of me in this way
that I may not have shown as freely otherwise.

From the start I thought xanga was pretty lame, I thought people only had xanga because they don’t know what else to do with their life. Also I just wonder why people put themselves in such a vulnerable position where anyone can read all their thoughts and be criticize by them? Are they insane why write your post your private thoughts online why not use a diary. It’s like putting your dirty laundry in public for people to tatter with it. When my friend introduced me to get xanga I didn’t do much with it. I felt weird that someone actually going to read about my inner thoughts and what are my agendas, it was just a scarey concept. Then one day one of my other friends were talking about her so I’ve decided to go to xanga to check out what’s happening in her life, and before you know it I was checking numerous other xangas. I found some of them was very intriguing so I decided to do xanga once more. Than before I knew it I found myself becoming one of those insane people who pouring out their hearts to a blank page. Leaving my dirty laundry in public…I thought it might be a little weird but for some reason I didn’t really care and I had a sense of relief after I finish pouring out to a blank entry…It’s like having someone to listen to you intently without having their own inputs and interruption and losing your chain of thoughts. Then you have all kind of different people comment on the entry how they felt the same ways or giving you different perspective about it. It always interesting to read about comments and your friends’ xanga. Xanga has also help me getting to know other individuals more closer and the mystery that reveals from the people in our life. In a way I learned a lot from people around me and they help me grow as a person. To me xanga is a journey that is taken by various lives but somehow intertwined together.
